I don't know diving terms. So when we photographed Bailey diving, I just told her to do stuff, and I'd see which dive photographs best. We tried a spinning dive, which is her specialty. But after two tries it was obvious spinning looks good live, but not in still photographs. So we tried a few different dives and came up with this as my favorite.
And no, I don't know what this pose is called. She told me but I don't remember.
Bailey is fun to work with. If you know her, you know she has smiling eyes and PERSONALITY! It's hard to photograph people who don't talk.
BTW, the one thing I'm disappointed with is that when we did her senior portraits, she only ordered one photo with Frank. We did quite a few with Frank. Leaning on Frank. Frank in the background. The one they ordered was the one of Bailey sitting on Frank, but only a little of Frank is showing. I was bothered that she didn't think enough of Frank to order more. Maybe they figured that someday she and Frank would part, and the album wouldn't be "right".
You'll have to ask Bailey who Frank is.
Lighting for the diving shot... three Einstein strobes lit her. Two for accents, and one for a main light.
