This was a family portrait pretty much planned at the last minute. The only location large enough for the group was a church a few blocks away. So I did the best I could do arranging the group, and knew I'd have to rely on Photoshop to fix the problems of that location.
I prefer to create images that don't require heavy alterations, but sometimes we have to use all the tools at our disposal.
While images like this won't win artistic awards by photographers, this type of image satisfies the needs of clients.
I'm proud to be asked to deliver a quality portrait, and that quality must be produced through clothing decisions, posing, lighting, client experience, and post production enhancements.
The first image is the final result. The second is the way it had to be photographed.
