Shirley and I roll our eyes whenever we hear some announcer asking, "Are we having fun yet?" Anyway, this title actually applies to this fun session. Work can be fun, especially when the subject, the props and the setup all work to create an image I've never done before. Colin was into juggling and their trampoline (obviously), and since film costs so much I combined the two into one shot. OK, so that's not quite true. But I did want to get this shot.
It took quite a few tries to get everything to work. I used three Canon 580 flashes, and the radio trigger decided to stop working (OK, it wasn't the radio that stopped working... I found out later that I inadvertently changed its channel.) So I used infrared to trigger the flashes... and and that ain't easy sometimes!
I've since purchased a a foolproof trigger and some bad-ass strobes that will blast out enough light to do some serious sunburn damage. Yes, we're havin' fun now!!!
What is your foolproof trigger, and what are the strobes you purchased?

So what kind of bad ass lighting did you buy? Great image.

I bought a pair of Paul Buff Einsteins and the matching triggers that plug into the units. There are more powerful flash units (like the Zeus, for example), but I shoot later in the day so I don't need that much power.
