Who's in???

OK, here's where the rubber meets the road... If there's enough interest in the Daily Dose of Duenkel, I'll do it. If you're interested, please comment here.  I need a count.  If there's not enough interest, it's off.  This is a HUGE commitment for me!

I'd love to do this... but I gotta know if you want it.

Plans are crytalizing for the Daily Does of Duenkel

Sorry about the false alarms with the publication idea.  I tried doing a few and found they were more work than I anticipated.  I can't commit to at least a year of anything that will require a lot of work.

 So.... it looks like if I do anything this will be it...

It'll be a small daily clip, pulled from my Go Home DVD series, along with any other things I may want to interject.  I anticipate charging $1 per day, payable by the month. Since it will be a Mon-Fri thing... not weekends, the cost would be as many weekdays are in that month... say $22.  Your charge card would be billed monthly, and you can let us know if you want to continue... otherwise we'll charge the card each month.

At the beginning of the program, I'll email a pdf of of the scheduled topics, with some variation to be allowed and expected.

It would need to be password-protected daily, and I would expect that all who subscribe will honor my request not to let others know the password.  I think I'd email the password to subscribers each day.

As of now, I don't know a better way.  I'm not the most super savvy about all the higher tech ways to do this, so this may seem primitive, but my plan is to upload each segment to Vimeo and you'll watch them from there after entering that day's password.

I hope this syemt doesn't seem to awkward.  It seems pretty simple and workable.

If anyone has any better suggestions, let me know!

 

"We just need a Christmas card photo"

This is a portrait of my older son's family.  We visited them last week, and they wanted a photo for a Christmas card.  Well asking me to snap a photo for a Christmas card is like asking a dog to just eat a little of a steak you feed him. (OK, is that the stupidest analofy ever?)

It's nice to be able to provide something nice like this for special people in our lives... as well as every client who calls us.

This is a sample of what would be easier for me to do.  And IF I'm going to do this, it has to be easy enough to do... it's a huge committment to say I'll make a daily teaching entry.

Another approach to the teaching aids...

I could email out a password-protetced PDF... probably Monday through Friday.  I'm thinking a dollar per day.  Each "issue" could contain either a daily image/lighting education, or other helpful information.

I'd rather do this than print a publication and mail those out.

You can either print out the PDFs (and keep them in a notebook), or just view them on your computer.

Further ideas for teaching aids

(That's "aids" in lower case letters.)

Hey, in addition to a change to add the ability to order segments of my lighting DVD series, individually in a shopping cart/menu fashion, I just had a thought that might be interesting.

I could put a few images together from a photo session, then show the lighting setups or diagrams and thought processes behind the images.  It could be a monthly publication about two or three pages long.  I'd do this either in a paper form or PDF.

The price would be very affordable.. like $9 per issue or something. 

Anyone interested?

This is how I lit the previous boy's image.  Pretty simple, but you MUST have a highly efficient reflector like the Fuzzyflector.  There's no commercially made reflector that will do this.  The FF is made from 3/4" foil-covered building insulation.  It's simply the best reflector out there.  The complete plans (16 pages of it) are in my Fuzzy Logic book.  The new version will be coming out in December.

The reflector makes it so easy, even a caveman could do it (my apologies to cavemen).

Third Cutie

Mason is the third son in a family of fun boys.  It's always fun, but as always, a challenge to do something different for each trip there.  For Mason we made some cool photos in a field with some fall colors, then back to his house to do some sporty images.  After photographing Mason with his bat, glove and a football, I wanted a stronger image to capture that very cute but pouting look that parents know only too well.

This was done in their garage using only the open door and my Fuzzyflector for main light.

Our senior season is winding down. While I LOVE shooting seniors, it's sure nice to finally have time to catch up on orders and everything else that;'s backed up!
