Some weeks ago I shot some high school seniors in the snow, and wanted to do a bridal portrait in the snow... since a bride's dress is a natural to coordinate with the high key scene (even if it's highly illogical for a bride to be out in the snow. Oh well, what the hell.)
Yesterday we got some decent snow, and both I and the one I wanted to shoot were available to play.
The snow pretty much disapperared in the trees by today, but I wanted to get this done. You never know when it'll work again.
It was in the teens, and Julie's in a wedding dress designed for 72 degrees!
We shot a few outside, then went inside for a few more.
Shirley and I were honored to speak to a national photographer's convention in Palm Springs. I was also a shooter there, to photograph two of the models chosen from senior photographers nationwide. What a trip (literally).
OK, Fuzzy, what is POTY? (It's not what you think)
Portrait Of The Year. We ran a contest on Facebook, last week, but it has come to my attention that such a contest is not allowed by the facebook folks. So next year, we'll run it here.
EVERYONE I photograph in 2011 will be eligible. I'll post MY favorite image from your session, then have everyone vote for their favorite.
In the meantime, I plan to run contests every two months or so with all past portraits that I care to include. To narrow the focus, I'll have to do it by category... babies, kids, seniors, glamour (G rated), families, couples.
