I'm in the process of copying some images I saved from long ago on CDs onto a hard drive. These were a few from 2003. I forgot about these poses. I like how other than hair styles, none of them seem dated to me.
1) All four of my prints merited. Not easy as I was only one of three who did that. The scoring was a bit tight... lots of 79s and low 80s... very few high 80s and 90s. No one is ever totally satisfied with judging, but the consensus was that the judges needed to use more of the total scoring range.
2) The surprise of the convention for us was that Shirley and i were awarded the "Husband and Wife" Award. This is given to a husband and wife (duh) who has given of themselves for the betterment of the association and the photographic community in general. We NEVER expected it... especially since we always thought it was given to "older couples"! Guess we ARE!
3) Great programming. Those of you who don't attend your state conventions are missing a VERY reasonable priced forum for gaining from a wide variety of talent. My favorites were Jen Hillenga and Jim Lersch.
