How appropriate for a portrait of a mother-to-be... to be photographed with blossoms and dandelions! Working in direct sunlight is NOT easy! It required LOTS of Photoshop to correct the extreme contrast and problems that it causes. And yet, sunlight is such a perfect light for an "In Bloom" session.
How many of you remember the Kool cigarette TV commercials in the 1960s? It usually featured a couple strolling though a blossoming apple orchard in the Spring as they puffed away on their menthol ciggy butts. (Who says TV and commercials don't have an affect on us? Here it is 50 years later and I'm still acting on those images!)
Callie is a senior I'll be photographing this summer, and since she went with our "Ultima" session, that enables her to have any number of photosessions throughout the year. So when I wanted to photograph someone in the Springtime session, I called her. Although my intention was to photograph her in dandelions, this was even more PERFECT! (OK, I know "perfect" is a superlative and you can exceed perfection... but you get my point.)
By the way... if you're over 55, I'll bet you remember the Hertz commercial where they lowered a guy into a moving car... powerful ad!
