This is a woman I photographed as high school senior, but now there's a new story beginning. Lizzy is pregnant! I was thrilled to be able to photograph her maternity portrait. What I wanted to capture was the mystery and wonder of a new being growing insde a woman. I wanted to include things that are elemental to life... water and foliage.. The flowy clothing portrays the femininity of motherhood.
This was done this morning... at 6am, when the light was what I needed. Hey, whatever it takes. I was just hoping she wouldn't have the baby then and there!
Kailee was easy to photograph... not only because she's comfortable in front of a camera, but because she lives about a half mile from our house! We've done senior-type sessions all over the United States, the farthest being Alaska. But it sure is nice working near home.
Hey... I photographed her on August 19, so how did the trees get that fall color? Well, I admit it... I changed them in the computer so they matched her shirt.

I've had the privilege to photograph all Megan's older brothers and sisters' senior portraits. It's always a challenge for me because their parents they always order a creative wall decor portrait from each session. So the pressure on me is to do something new, different and artistic with each one... at the same location (their home).
